Freedom. That's what Steffen Hansen feels when he wakes up in the morning. The withdrawal symptoms are still there, but knowing that his prescription heroin awaits at the clinic, he gets out of bed feeling freedom and peace of mind. He has been a drug addict more than half his life, gone cold turkey several times without results. So when he was offered to join the new program with prescription heroin as the first person in Denmark, he gratefully accepted the offer. Today the street hunt for money and drugs have been replaced with two daily train rides to the clinic south of Copenhagen.
