From the beginning Rosengård was a modern city district full of hope. It was part of the
Swedish Million programme from the 1970s where millions of futuristic high rises were built
to rise the standards of the Swedish residents. Much has happened since that time.
Today there are more than 21 000 people living in Rosengård, among these there are 86
percent with an ethnic background other than Swedish.
Rosengård has today become mythical and a symbol for segregation. Last years media coverage
has been frequent from the area and very seldom with a positive touch. We hear about
riots, car fires, stone-throwing. And about gangs of young men roaming the streets.
This is a another story about boys and young men from Rosengård.
