Summer is definately over and the school has been taken over by enthusiastic students. And this year we're proud to announce that we have our first photojournalist student from the African continent. James Njuguna from Nairobi, Kenya has started together with eight other international students at The Language of Photojournalism program. With James' enrollment we've now had students from all continents in the world. We're looking forward to seeing work from our new students.

Faculty teacher and photographer Mads Greve will be at Visa Pour l'Image in Perpignan next week. At the festival Mads Greve will be conducting a workshop for Danish photographers. It's the third time Mads Greve is running this popular workshop where the Danish photographers get a unique chance to meet and talk to some of the exhibiting photographers. The workshop is made in co-operation with Update, Centre of knowledge, development and further education within the field of journalism and communication.

"The more your work is connected to you, the more unique it is", said Magnum photographer Jacob Aue Sobol at a three hours inspiring lecture today in the auditorium at DSMJ. The lecture was our official welcome-the-autumn-semester for all the students - a chance to meet eachother across classes.
Jacob Aue Sobol took us to Greenland and gave us the complete background of his work Sabine. And from here we went to Guatemala, Tokyo, Bangkok and ended up with seeing his newest work-in-progress from Copenhagen.

The students are back at school and DSMJ is alive again. We're looking forward to an interesting autumn semester with a lot of guests. Among others:
- The prize winning and world famous photographers Kent Klich, Anders Petersen and Marcus Bleasdale - who will run workshops at the 8th semester.
- Poul Madsen and Henrik Kastenskov from Bombay Flying Club - who will conduct workshops in online story telling for both Danish and international students.
- Peter Hove from the Daily Politiken - who will run a reportage workshop for our 3rd term students.
- The Århus-based photojournalists Mathilde Bech and Jesper Voldgaard - who each will be in charge of a magazine workshop. Mathilde will teach the Danish students and Jesper will teach the internationals.
- Freelance photojournalist Bo Amstrup - who will take care of the sports' workshop.
And finally a lot of photographers will visit us to give shorter lectures. It's to much to mention all of them, but we're especially proud to welcome:
- The Danish Magnum photographer Jacob Aue Sobol - who will give a lecture on Tuesday the 24th of August.
- Saiful Hug from Bangladesh - who will be in Århus around the 10th of November.
